About the event

Cornwall Architectural Trust 2025 Lecture
The Cornwall Architectural Trust and RIBA Cornwall Annual Lecture 2025 with RIBA National Award winning architect Hugh Strange.

The work of Hugh Strange has attracted international attention, culminating in the recent nomination of their “House on a Hill” for the RIBA Stirling Prize, 2025.

Known for his precise and materially sensitive architecture, Hugh Strange has developed a body of work that bridges the realms of practice and academic inquiry. An intentionally small and hands-on practice, they make buildings with thought and care. Hugh is as much preoccupied with the cultural and historic contexts of architecture as with practical and cost-effective building. Central to his work is the precise handling of material and structure, and the sensitive yet radical transformation of existing sites and buildings.
