# Event Details - **Event Name**: Climate Cafe Listening Circle - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 26 Sep, 2026 at 10:00 am – Sat, 26 Sep, 2026 at 12:00 pm - **Event Description**: A welcoming space to share our feelings about the climate and nature crisisAbout this EventWhat is a Climate Café Listening Circle?A Climate Café listening circle is welcoming space where fears, uncertainties and grief about our climate & nature crisis can be safely felt and expressed. The focus of discussion is participants’ thoughts and feelings about the climate and nature crisis. There are no guest speakers and no talks, and it is an advice-free zone. The model is one which has been adapted from Death Cafés by Climate Psychology Alliance. This climate café is for anyone aged 18 or over. Why Come? Many people feel anxious about the unfolding climate and nature crisis, finding it difficult to talk to their friends and loved ones about how they are feeling. It is often a taboo subject. Coming together in a safe and well-held space to express those feelings and be heard helps us to come to terms with what is happening and feel less alone. We provide a space to explore fear, anxiety and other emotions such as anger, helplessness, sadness, grief or depression. ‘Climate Café’s’ focus is on feelings rather than action, and is not a space for discussing climate policy, science or action. There are no guest speakers or talks; it is an advice-free zone. What happens during a Climate Café Listening Circle?Everyone sits and takes a turn to introduce themselves and what has brought them to the Climate Café that day. After listening to each other, we then go around the circle again, speaking about anything that came up for us during the first round: thoughts, feelings or reflections. If there is time we go around the circle again. There is a break in the middle for cake and a hot drink. Free refrshments as part of our welcoming space. The listening circle will be led by facilitators trained through Climate Psychology Alliance and our Community of Practice project, and is offered free of charge thanks to funding from Falmouth Town Council.LocationThe listening circle is being held at The Snug, Above The Bookshop Cafe, 21 Church Street, Falmouth, TR11 3EG.Please note The Snug room is on the second floor. Please note there is no parking at the venue. Please allow extra time to arrive.TimeThe listening circle will run from 10.00am - 12.00pm. Please note, this is a held space (rather than a drop-in session). Please come for 10 as we will be closing the doors to new arrivals at 10.15 to create a safe, supportive space for those attending. What is a Climate Café Listening Circle?A Climate Café listening circle is welcoming space where fears, uncertainties and grief about our climate & nature crisis can be safely felt and expressed.
