It is joyful, lively, elegant, playful, at times serene and always delightful!                Another featured piece that few people have ever had the chance to hear live, will be the Glière Harp Concerto. The Glière Concerto is one of the greatest masterpieces ever written for the harp and is marked by sweeping lyricism and deep expressiveness, drawing on the traditions of Russian Romanticism reminiscent of Rachmaninoff. Rebekah Atkinson, harpist, will be the soloist and will be accompanied by the horn and strings for a powerful and passionate presentation.             Additional pieces will include a cello showpiece by Saint-Saëns, his rousing Allegro Appassionato, Op. 43 and the ethereal, intensely introspective “Sospiri” by Elgar for strings, organ and harp.             The event is free but donations are cheerfully accepted.
