4th through 12th grade Girl Scouts, join us for a totally sweet day of science, creativity, and fun! 🍬
At S.T.E.M. Snack Lab: Science You Can Eat, girls become real scientists, experimenting, exploring, and even eating their creations!
In this hands-on edible lab, girls will dive into chemistry, biology, and food science through snackable experiments that taste as amazing as they look.
Activities include:
🍬 Edible Boba Lab – Mix, measure, and drop your own popping boba pearls using real spherification chemistry!
🐻 Gummy Bear Osmosis Lab – Watch gummy bears grow, shrink, and transform as we explore how water moves through food.
💜 UV Color-Changing Drinks – Brew a glowing tea that changes from blue to purple to pink right before your eyes!
👩🔬 STEM Career Spotlights – Learn about the amazing women behind your favorite snacks, sweets, and beauty products.
Girls will leave inspired by science, creativity, and curiosity about the world around them — and will earn their official STEM Career Exploration badge as well as a fun patch!
📅 When: Monday, December 29, 2025 • 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
📍 Where: Fairfield Middle School – 404 W. Fillmore Ave, Fairfield, IA 52556

🥼 What to Bring: Refillable water bottle, enthusiasm, and your inner scientist!
Please note that the nature of some activities may cause staining to clothing in the case of spills — dress appropriately.

To help everything run smoothly, parents may drop off girls through the front doors of Fairfield Middle School at check-in time. Leaders will be inside to greet and check in participants.
Please plan to pick up promptly at 3:00 PM at the same location.
