- **Event Description**: The Wayne County Farm Bureau and Wabash Valley Service Company are excited to continue the opportunity for farmers to learn about nutrient loss inhibitors and nutrient use efficiency through our Nutrient Loss Inhibitor Demonstration Plot (NLID Plot). This year’s NLID plot features a focus on humic acid across varying split applications of nitrogen.

The 2026 NLID Field Day will be held on Thursday, August 20, at the Fred Blessing Farm at 5:00 p.m. A ribeye dinner will be served. Tentative speakers for this year’s Field Day will include Mike Wilson, Jay Tharp, John Pike, and Dr. Sonjay Sofat. This year's Field Day will be keynoted by Michael Clark, CEO and co-founder of BAM Weather.

Interested farmers are asked to RSVP their attendance by August 13 by calling 618-842-3342 or online at www.waynecfb.com/nlid. There is no cost to attend.

​The 2026 NLID project is supported by a Nutrient Stewardship Grant from the Illinois Farm Bureau, agronomic resources from Wabash Valley Service Company, and the Wayne County Farm Bureau.
