Rappers in The Kitchen
Like music, food often tells a story and has a history behind it that connects us all. This show seeks to blend both in a way that is fun, spontaneous and creative. RITK features some of the brightest talent in the DMV area but is not limited to local artist, any artist willing to travel is welcome on the show as long as the musical talent is obvious and the desire to put on a good show is apparent. Artist appearing on the show must supply their own ingredients as well as bring the featured dish already prepared, as we film the process of cooking the dish the pre prepared food will be heating in the oven or cooling down in the refrigerator. Visiting artist will be expected to participate in the freestyle segment of the show as well as perform their latest music. In the case of multiple artist such as a hip hop band or group they will perform a song that features all the members. To be sure there is a studio audience artist are required to sell performance tickets to their taping as we have found the artist do better when their fans and family are in attendance, we also seek to educate independent artist that success in the entertainment business is not given for free, this is why we require tickets to be sold before appearing on the show. Proceeds from the ticket sales are divided with the artist 50/50 to not only keep the show running but to put money in the pockets of artist who are serious and realize there is more to the music industry than just signing a contract. RITK is produced and directed by veteran tv producer Richard Jackson and hosted by Kendra Jackson. RITK staff members include people on the autism spectrum as we also seek to teach television production skills to people with special needs and broaden their experience and hopefully spark an interest in perusing a career in television production. Thank you for taking an interest in appearing on Rappers In The Kitchen and we hope you will enjoy your visit as we seek to put on an incredible new show that will be both entertaining and fun.
