ABOUT THE EVENT
This Father’s Day season, step away from the noise and step into the wilderness for a weekend built around skills, bonding, fellowship, and faith.
The Fathers in the Wilderness Retreat is a family-friendly bushcraft weekend designed to strengthen the ties between fathers and their children — and to build a community of men who lead with courage, humility, and heart.
This is NOT a class and NOT a commercial course.
It’s a free community gathering where everyone participates, learns, and grows together.
All experience levels welcome.

June 26–28, 2026
• Friday Arrival: 1500–1800
• Event Ends: Sunday at 1200
If you need to arrive later Friday night or Saturday morning, just message and we’ll coordinate.
📍 Location
Land Between the Lakes (LBL) – KY/TN
Exact campsite location will be sent to confirmed attendees 48 hours before the event.
Primitive camping. No facilities.
Expect a true wilderness weekend.

Firecraft (beginner to advanced)
Knife skills & carving
Water purification & fieldcraft basics
Bushcraft shelter-building
Cordage, knots & primitive skills
Father–child challenges
Campfire meals
Evening fellowship
Optional Bible study
Sunday devotional
Time to reset, reconnect, and breathe
This is a veteran-friendly, family-friendly, faith-friendly environment.
No egos. No drama. No alcohol.
🎒 What to Bring
Tent, tarp, or hammock shelter
Sleeping gear
Weather-appropriate clothing
Food for all meals (optional shared dinner Saturday night)
1–2 gallons of water per person
Knife, ferro rod, or tools (optional)
Bible (optional)
Camp chair
Any personal items for kids
An open attitude and willingness to learn
A full packing list will be sent after RSVP.
