WINTER EDITION: Advanced Zimbabwean Marimba

This intensive is for those who already have some experiences playing Zimbabwean style marimba. In this workshop will learn a piece of the group’s choosing from the traditional or contemporary Zimbabwean repertoire. We’ll also explore some of the rhythmic and melodic fundamentals that will help us to deepen our understanding of the music.

Prerequisite: Current involvement with the ongoing marimba group in Fairbanks and/or other communities or instructor approval.
