- **Event Description**: Join us in person or on Zoom for our January meeting and program. This month's program will be about the Princess Sophia shipwreck which occurred on Oct 25, 1918 near Juneau. 

On board were over 350 passengers, many who were from the Fairbanks area. All perished. 

We will discuss our research on many of the people, where they were from, what they did and where they lived in Alaska, and how their families were affected by their deaths. 

We hope you saw the display at the Morris Thompson Visitors Center or Loussac Library this past summer. If you want to learn more about the SS Princess Sophia or genealogy, we hope to see you at the meeting on Jan 27. 

If you enjoy family history or want to work on your family tree, you will enjoy our meetings.

This is a free event. 

We have the month of March and April available during our meetings if you are interested in speaking or sharing your story. 

406 Cushman St is the Alaska Mining Hall of Fame. It is next to McCafferty's Coffee and the Fairbanks Distilling Co.
