- **Event Description**: Am Sonntag, den 3. Mai 2026, um 10 Uhr laden die Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück und das Internationale Ravensbrück Komitee zur zentralen Gedenkveranstaltung anlässlich des 81. Jahrestags der Befreiung des Frauen-Konzentrationslagers Ravensbrück ein.

Im Mittelpunkt steht das Gedenken an die mehr als 140.000 Frauen, Männer und Kinder aus über 40 Ländern, die in Ravensbrück und seinen Außenlagern inhaftiert waren, sowie an die vielen Tausenden, die von den Nationalsozialisten ermordet wurden.

Die Veranstaltung findet im historischen Garagenhof der Gedenkstätte Ravensbrück statt. Im Anschluss erfolgt eine Kranzniederlegung am Ufer des Schwedtsees. Die Veranstaltung wird simultan in Deutsch, Englisch, Polnisch und Französisch gedolmetscht.

Bitte beachten Sie: Die Teilnahme ist nur nach vorheriger Anmeldung möglich. Anmeldeschluss ist der 26. April 2026.
Die Anmeldung erfolgt über die Website der Gedenkstätte.

Wir bitten darum, aus organisatorischen Gründen etwa 15 Minuten vor Beginn der Veranstaltung vor Ort zu sein.

English: 
On Sunday, 3 May 2026, at 10:00, the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum and the International Ravensbrück Committee invite you to the Central Commemoration Ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Ravensbrück women’s concentration camp.

At the heart of the ceremony is the remembrance of the more than 140,000 women, men and children from over 40 countries who were imprisoned in Ravensbrück and its subcamps, as well as the many thousands who were murdered by the Nazis.

The ceremony will take place in the historic garage courtyard of the Ravensbrück Memorial Museum. It will be followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at at the shore of the Schwedtsee. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in German, English, Polish and French.

Please note: Participation is only possible with prior registration. The registration deadline is 26 April 2026.
Registration is available via the website of the Memorial.
