Phil Young (Cloud Executive Advisor for UK Public Sector Team) James Lear (Account Manager for the South West).
Phil Young is Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Executive Advisor for their UK Public Sector Team, which help Local Authorities to use the latest cloud computing technologies to transform the way they interact with citizens and think about their future. Phil and James will be sharing their vast experience and insights along with highlights from this year’s 2018 Socitm conference in Glasgow. They will describe the way that AWS can enable innovation, working backwards from the customer, press release, two pizza teams! With examples of what Local Authorities have done with the cloud and data.
Eduserv How UK councils are evolving their IT to support their transformation journey
Colm Blake(Solutions Consultant) Kathleen Mackey(Engagement Leader)Based on contributions from over 300 councils, in partnership with Socitm, Kathleen will provide a summary of their research findings and share stories from interviews of how councils are transforming their IT to better deliver services and overcome challenges along the way.
Colm will provide a technical viewpoint; talking throughout the lifecycle of a journey to cloud. From discovery to migration, all the way through to rationalisation and performance tuning. The session will end with a chance for you to ask any questions to the speakers, who are both passionate about helping local authorities transform the delivery of their services and cloud adoption.
Wiltshire Council Evolution of cloud in Wiltshire
Andy Wickhamis the innovation and development manager for Wiltshire council, he has worked for Wiltshire in a variety of different roles for almost 17 years and has seen both the public sector and the technology that support it significantly change, bringing with it both challenges and opportunity. Andy will talk about Wiltshire’s experiences and some of the lessons learnt along the way.
