Mental Wellbeing in the workplace
Mental wellbeing in the work place has become a real problem in business, effecting company profits and causing health problems. Mental wellbeing or sometimes referred to as wellbeing is at last being taken seriously in business today as employers realise that looking after their employees results in a healthier business and happier working environment.
Reducing stress and anxiety is now a statutory obligation which have to be addressed within the workplace. Unfortunately I see many large businesses just ticking the box by allowing wellbeing into the work place as an after thought and only giving a small amount of funds towards it. It is to their detriment in the long term as their business will suffer if they don’t look after their no one assets – their employees!
Businesses are seriously already finding employees are underperforming due to stress, anxiety and work pressures, resulting in a serious loss of revenue due to their employees being off sick.
