Exeter Art and Creative Technology Network

Informal get-togethers about ART, CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY & EXETER

Called/hosted by Katie Keeler from Kaleider and Kris Sum from Tech Exeter

We are inviting cultural leaders, artists, creative technologists and those interested in ART, CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY & EXETER to attend an informal get-together.

In 2017 a partnership in Exeter, led by Exeter City Council, delivered an arts and tech festival called Lost Weekend. Unfortunately Lost Weekend will not take place in 2019, but the connections between people and the ideas that emerged are valuable.

What and why

We envision the Exeter Art and Creative Technology Network meetings to take place 4 times a year. These meetings will give opportunity for people to get to know each other better, to welcome new people and help them plug into Exeter quickly, to share what we are all up to, to share knowledge and expertise, whilst also making us more able to;

Support and challenge each other and to spot and support new talent – making us all better.

To spot and develop opportunities for great projects, working together

To make all of our work more visible in the city – to each other and to others

To position this area of work as an opportunity for the city

Agenda for the first meetingWe have invited Tom Fleming and Louise Thompson from Tom Fleming Consultancy who have been commissioned by Exeter Culture to develop a cultural strategy for Exeter. This get-together will give Tom and Louise the chance to meet a range of people working in art and creative technology in the city, and will give opportunity for everyone attending the chance to share what they are up to and what is coming up.

We will be sharing information about the South West Creative Technology Network and what funding is available for research and prototyping within this programme, as well as discussing potential and value that has come from the Lost Weekend partnership across the city.

We are excited to see you there!
