To drum & bass fans the world over the names Calyx and TeeBee are synonymous with high quality, perfectly sculpted music. Just as Michelangelo discovered statues in blocks of stone, so Calyx and TeeBee discovered the essence of D&B locked away in studio equipment; always forward-thinking and packed with as much integrity as energy; their music has had an impact on the scene for over fifteen years.

After becoming a permanent duet, Calyx & TeeBee launched Momentum Music, which marked its first release with their debut long player. The ‘Anatomy’ LP proved to be one of the most highly anticipated albums in D&B for years, gaining massive support from the scene’s big players and topping sales charts for months. ‘Anatomy’ proved to be a game changer, and following its release Calyx & TeeBee embarked on several unrelenting tours across the globe, venturing into joint DJ sets featuring 6 decks and 3 mixers with both DJs in action simultaneously. Meanwhile the duo started to lay groundwork for their follow-up LP which they dedicated five years to complete.

In 2012, Calyx & TeeBee signed to Ram Records, arguably the biggest and most respected drum & bass label in the world and a leading light in the multi-genre bass music scene. Featuring stunning collaborations with Beardyman and Foreign Beggars and the first of many tracks featuring Calyx’s previously undiscovered voice, the pair released a succession of chart-topping singles that led up to the award winning LP ‘All Or Nothing’. The pair achieved unprecedented success with the album; sweeping awards for ‘Best Single’ with ‘Elevate This Sound’, ‘Best Video’ with ‘Pure Gold, ‘Best LP’ & ‘Best Producer’. A near-constant run of radio plays led to the duo being asked to do a BBC Essential Mix and to top off the year, their mix was then voted as one of five nominees for ‘Essential Mix of the year’.

Through 2017 they have been releasing a track every month and a single every 2 months; and yet again they are omni-present in charts, playlists and lineups around the world. Having written the opening ceremony music for the world’s biggest DnB festival: ‘Let It Roll’, they continue to fly the flag as leading lights of the genre. As their releases build up to a third album on Ram Records, there’s no doubt that their forthcoming LP ‘A Call To Arms’ will once again affirm the duo as one of the most exciting acts in electronic music today.

Heavily inspired by the bass lines of dub music, ragga jungle and Hip Hop a Benny page production does not go unheard in today’s ever changing bass music culture.

Over the last decade his music has seen airplay on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, 1xtra, Kiss FM, Choice FM and Rinse FM etc. He has also played a definitive role in shaping the sounds of the UK’s drum and bass movement. His name has become synonymous with tight production, heavyweight dance-floor tracks and clinical mixing skills.

Storming onto the scene with his 2006 anthem “Turn Down The Lights” he has gone on to release a slew of seminal ragga jungle cuts, as well as numerous well received productions across the dance music spectrum.

His own label High Culture Recordings, exemplifies Benny’s ability to move effortlessly through the different sounds of UK electronic music, much of the labels output so far has been refreshingly diverse. Tracks such as “Raggamuffin”, “Stamina” and “What Must I Do” draw influence from the current UK funky, house and dubstep movements, while the latest release “Top Rank Skank” sees a return to classic Benny Page with its bouncy reggae backing track and huge vocals from the one Mr Williamz who is another artist to watch out for on High Culture.

He is currently preparing his 1st studio album being recorded in both the UK and Jamaica. The eclectic sounds of the album range from Dancehall to Trap, Reggae to Drum & Bass and Dubstep, and is being voiced by Jamaican vocal legends including Big Youth, Beenie Man, Spice, Popcaan, Protoje and Assassin. It’s a new sound that will cross cultures and fan bases between JA and the UK, all culminating in a carnival style, high-energy, Jamaican-infused stage show with support from a number of artists.
