Over 5-weeks you will learn how to use a desktop computer to create, edit and handle information as well as connect safely to the Internet. You'll grow in confidence through a series of simple tasks each week and have fun while doing so. The group is small and you'll be supported by two friendly tutors who will guide you at a pace that suits you.We'll start at the very beginning with switching on and logging into the computer; then explore the screen, keyboard and mouse; create a variety of simple documents using MS Word; get online safely and learn how to manage cookies (the digital kind!).Location and facilitiesThis course is delivered in an IT suite at Brittany House, an Exeter College site close to the city centre. You will be taught by two friendly and supportive tutors. You will be shown how to operate a college desktop computer. If you have a smartphone, please bring this to class.Who is the course for?This course is ideal for people who may need support to handle and use digital devices for the first time and for those seeking to develop basic IT skills.
