3 Minute Thesis Final
An 80,000 word thesis would take 9 hours to present
Their time limit…3 minutes
Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a National competition for postgraduate research students, run by research organisation Vitae. 3MT® challenges doctoral candidates to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes. The first 3MT® was held at The University of Queensland in Australia in 2008, and has been nationwide in the UK by Vitae since 2014.
More information about the history of 3MT® can be found on the University event webpages, Vitae and 3MT® websites.
Research Poster Competition
Our annual research poster competition is one of the highlights of the University calendar, filling the Forum Street with the leading postgraduate research from across the institution. Displaying the posters in the Forum Street allows postgraduate research to speak to all university staff, students, and members of the general public. As such, one of the key aims of the poster competition is to challenge PGRs to communicate and disseminate their research to a public or lay audience. The posters will be on display from Monday 14 - Friday 18 May.
For more information please see the dedicated competition webpages.
Tweet your Thesis
We are challenging our PGRs to communicate their research to a public audience – in 280 characters. Our inaugural Tweet Your Thesis competition is inspired by the #tweetyourthesis hashtag, and the British Library’s #ShareMyThesis competition.
Our Tweet Your Thesis competition will run from Monday 14 May at 10am - Wednesday 16 May at 5pm. To enter, tweet your thesis during these times using the #tweetyourthesis and tagging @ExeterDoctoral. Our judging panel will meet on Thursday 17th May to decide the winners.
More information can be found on the competition webpages.
