Come Gee! Come Haw! The 2025 Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby was canceled due to no snow. Mark your calendars for next year when we return to Excelsior for our 4th-annual sled dog and family-fun race weekend—February 13th & 14th, 2026!

The Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby is a world-class sled dog race that brings the incredible sport of mushing to our local community. The 8-dog, 40-mile race will start and finish on Water Street in the heart of historic Excelsior, Minnesota and then run along the beautiful shores of Lower Lake Minnetonka.

The Klondike is a FREE family-friendly event, but your donations help make it a reality! Your tax-deductible donations are greatly appreciated and all net profits from the race will be donated to our two- and four-legged friends through our charity partners: Can-Do Canines, Cast Outdoor Adventures and ICA Food Shelf.
