INVITATION TO THE 2ND ANNUAL GALA DINNER OF THE WASHINGTON WEST AFRICAN CENTER
The Washington West African Center (WAWAC) is pleased to invite you to our 2nd Annual African Inspired Red-Carpet Fundraising Gala Dinner scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Carl Gibson Community Center in Everett.
Our Gala Dinner is designed as a joyful celebration of West African culture and heritage. It is an evening where people from diverse backgrounds, immigrants, neighbors, partners, and supporters, come together under one roof to enjoy authentic African food, vibrant music, and an elegant red-carpet atmosphere.
You will be treated to live African musical performances, cultural entertainment, a 360-degree photo booth, complimentary professional photos and a live and Silent Auction.
Whether you are deeply connected to the West African community or simply believe in inclusion and equity, this Gala offers a welcoming space to connect, have fun, and support meaningful community work.
Auctions and Artifact Sales
A major highlight of the evening will be our Live and Silent Auctions, featuring traditional African musical instruments and unique cultural artifacts from across West Africa. These items represent generations of craftsmanship and storytelling most of which are directly from the artists.
In addition, a curated collection of instruments and artifacts are already displayed and available for purchase on our website. You can explore these items in advance and make purchases that help support WAWAC programs even before the event begins.
Ticket Pricing
To encourage broad participation, we are offering discounted Early Bird tickets:
$80 per individual
$150 per couple
Early Bird pricing ends on January 15th, 2026. After that date, ticket discounts will close and the standard price will be $100 per person.
All funds raised from ticket sales, auctions, and donations will go directly toward sustaining WAWAC programs that support housing stability, food access, kids programs, education, language services, and advocacy for marginalized immigrant families.
