Greg will take you not to some foreign land abroad, but to the Lilliputian world of our local forests, ponds, beaches, and gardens. From dragonflies to slime mold, mushrooms to barnacles, bumblebees to frog eggs, and the repeating patterns of garden flower corollas and ice crystals, Greg will reveal a world that is wholly visible yet rarely seen.

About the presenter:
Greg Green is a career ecologist having devoted over 45 years to marine and terrestrial wildlife ecology in the western United States and Alaska. His research and publications have been on subjects as varied as from bats, burrowing owls, and red foxes to sea otters, whales, and polar bears. He has also traveled extensively throughout the Arctic and have taken photo adventures to many remote places including the Amazon, Kenya, Thailand, Costa Rica, Hokkaido, and Southeastern Alaska. When not photographing, Greg teaches ecology at Western Washington University, although much of his photography is in support of the class lectures. Much of his travel has been with friend and mentor Art Wolfe. Together, they recently published the book Wild Lives, our exposition on the present state of the world’s wildlife. Details about the book and how to purchase are found at artwolfe.com/wild-lives/

At the Northeast Stream Center Greg gives two additional presentations;
Monet, Me & the Mallards (May 2nd, 2026) and The Ecology of Hummingbirds (November 7th, 2026)
