A laid back camp experience for independent indoor kids.

About this Event

Everett Improv's Indoor Kid Comedy Clubhouse Camp

AGES 8 - 13

Monday 8/22 - Thursday 8/25 (No early drop -off or late pick-up available.)

Our two guiding thoughts:

1. You need affordable child care

2. Not many laidback indoor kids want an 8 hour day filled to the brim with 30 minute high-energy guided activity after activity after activity after activity. They want time to CHOOSE what they want to do when they want to do it, even if that choice is gaming or talking to their friend or reading their latest YA novel or drawing anime or even just scrolling through their phone in a safe atmosphere with potential new friends.

The EI Comedy Clubhouse will:

- Provide a lot of free time to do whatever strikes the camper as the thing to do in that moment.

- Not force anyone to do anything that they don't want to do (aka, a camper can have "free time" all day if they choose.

- Facilitate awesomely fun yet challenging games, activities, and exercises in moderation.

- Not pretend to be a fancy and intensely-cumulative experience with a magical before/after promise.

- Assure you that your child will be safe, supervised, and presented with stimulating creative opportunities.

The Indoor Kid Comedy Clubhouse Camp will offer (all day):

- chances to participate in weird, fun, creative and challenging creative activities/games/exercises in a wide range of improvisational realms

- wall scrabble

- wall chess / checkers

- giant wall tic tac toe

- wall hook swing skill game

- giant wall connect four

- safety wall darts

- brand new jigsaw puzzles

- giant jenga

- tvs that will be playing youth-friendly movies and shows all day.

- board games

- lots of painting supplies

- lots of drawing and coloring supplies

- karaoke

- We enthusiastically support your child bringing their own activities/entertainment.

- The Clubhouse doesn't have fancy follow-up marketing materials with glossy photos and a specific schedule or menu of offerings.

- The Clubhouse will not separate the kids by age for activities.

- The Clubhouse will not provide any meals or snacks. Campers must bring everything they will need for the entire day.

- The Clubhouse is for independent-minded campers by economical design and not equipped for campers with behavioral issues requiring extra attention or discipline in anyway.

- The campers will have access to one all-gender restroom.

- The Clubhouse reserves the right to discontinue a camper's experience at any moment if they exhibit angry, aggressive, violent, bigoted, or any other negative group-affecting behavior. The Clubhouse also reserves the right to end a camper's experience at any moment if a parent exhibits any of the above behaviors in any capacity via any form of communication.

- The Clubhouse will take place at Everett Improv, which is a comedy club with a bar.

If any student finishes a course but regrets taking it for any reason, they may recieve a full refund, minus the processing fee.   There are two main adult course pools:  LIFE STAGE   The “LIFE” courses are great for anyone who wants to: Get out of the house   Try something new Learn powerful life and career skills in a stupidly fun way Meet new people  Escape from reality for a couple hours Train your mind to work faster, more creatively, more critically, and more confidently Help better manage anxiety, stress, and depression (art, creativity, laughter, positive human interaction, and supportive validation is powerful stuff)  Learn and utilize improv without all the silly voices, body contortion, and super  theatre-y stuff  Have fun and keep mentally flexible and prepared     The “STAGE” courses are great for anyone who wants to: Get out of the house Try something new or “get back into it” Learn/continue to explore improv in an artistic and performance capacity Not be any version of themselves for a couple hours Apply improvisation skills to other artistic/creative mediums like writing, acting, dance, or stand-up Have fun and keep mentally flexible and prepared   WHICH COURSE SHOULD I TAKE FIRST? You will not see the word “level” or any numerology.  As many courses as possible are compartmentalized and have little to no prerequisites, allowing you to choose solely based on the skills you want to learn/practice in the order you want to learn them.  Choose your own adventure!        CAN I JUMP BETWEEN POOLS? Heck, yes.  As long as there are no prerequisite skills, you can take any course from either pool in any order.    Registration Note: Due to small class sizes, registration is required for all courses and classes.  But as long as there is space in the class, there is no registration deadline. If there are not enough students to run the class, it will be canceled by the morning of class and students may roll the credit to another class or recieve a refund.     Want to be ahead of the class? Sign the activity liability waiver now.
