Please join us for this program with Julie O’Donald, Community Wildlife Habitat Steward and retired Master Gardener, as we delve into the fascinating world of creating garden habitat. Julie will give an overview of the elements that create beautiful gardens for birds and people, emphasizing best native plants for birds and design features that create and sustain bird habitat. Beautiful photography of birds and their food plants will show how to bring nature home to any size property. Learn about the native plants that attract birds and hummingbirds with the goal of growing nature's food for birds. 

Before or after the class all participants will have the chance to explore the Northwest Stream Center's accessible nature trail, and shop for native plants in the Native Plant Nursery.

All proceeds benefit the Adopt A Stream Foundation's mission: to teach people to become stewards of their watersheds, through environmental education and habitat restoration.

About the presenter: Julie O'Donald is the team leader for a Community Wildlife Habitat Project in Brier and she volunteers in  community education and outreach for the  Audubon Society, Kruckeberg Botanic Garden, the Adopt A Stream Foundation and the Washington Native Plant Society. In addition, Julie's personal certified wildlife habitat garden contains over 200 species of native plants and has been successfully attracting birds, butterflies and pollinators for more than 25 years. It has been featured in Pacific Horticulture  Magazine, The Butterfly Gardener, Bird Watching Magazine and Sunset publications.
