- **Event Description**: Join us in the Sierra foothills of Northern California for a weekend rooted in earth-based ancetsral skills and ceremony.About this EventGather with us for a weekend of land-based learning, community, and reconnecting with the skills that have sustained people for generations. Together we will practice living skills such as archery and axe throwing, explore wild plant identification on the land, and harvest and weave willow to build a living arch together.Throughout the weekend, we will camp, cook, learn, and gather around the fire, guided in part by Maidu elders who will share cultural knowledge and teachings rooted in relationship with the land. We will also have opportunities to engage in ceremony led by our Maidu elders, grounding our time together in respect, gratitude, and connection to place.Through hands-on practice, storytelling, and time in community, this gathering invites us to remember and weave together the wisdom of ancestral ways with the needs of the present.Come prepared to camp, learn, and deepen your relationship with land, lineage, and living skills.Meals and equipment are provided on-site, however, participants are encouraged to bring their own equippment if possible.NOTE: Our trainings are curated specifically for people who identify as Black, Indigenous and/or Queer. For us, it's critical to create safe learning and healing spaces for our people, where we can be alongside others who share intersecting identities and stories of resilience and survival.This workshop will be hosted in the Sierra foothills in Nevada City, California.
