- **Event Description**: How We Age — Organ Systems in FocusAbout this EventThe human body contains 79 organs, each with distinct biological pathways of aging. The Investigator Badge examines aging at the organ-system level, integrating foundational mechanisms with system-specific change.Through expert-led sessions, participants explore how the heart ages, how kidney function evolves, how immune resilience shifts, and how joints such as the knee undergo structural and cellular decline. The module connects core biological mechanisms to functional outcomes across major organ systems.Students complete a project applying course concepts and implement one measurable change in their own lives, observing how a targeted intervention may influence biological aging trajectories.Spring 2026: April 2 – June 4Thursdays, 4:30–6:20 PM PT (10 weeks)This module runs concurrently with Stanford’s How We Age course for enrolled Stanford students. Non-Stanford participants may enroll online.This will be a 10-week session. The final session will be an opportunity for students to present their work to the class. Each student will have the opportunity to work on a project where they explore a topic tying into longevity. Students can either write up a personal reflection about an intervention that they did over the course of the class, or vibe code a longevity product that can aid in anti-aging. All final projects will be posted on the Module website. In addition to a project, each student will complete short lecture quizzes and discussions designed to stimulate thought around the topics covered in class. Completion of the assignments is required to obtain the Certificate.The Investigator Badge may be taken independently of other modules. Completion of one module earns a badge; completion of three modules earns a certificate.
