*********** Adventures in Central Asia ******************
Stretching from the Caspian Sea in Europe to the west of China and the south of Russia, a region rich in history and steeped in culture. The Central Asia comprises of the former Soviet republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgystan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, has been historically tied to its nomadic people and the Silk Road. It is an important trade crossroad between Europe and Asia. Due to it vast mountainous landscapes and inadequate air access, Central Asia remains less explored compared to other more popular hiking and trekking destinations. With peaks such as the Pamir Mountains and Tien Shan soaring above 7,000 metres above sea level, join us to discover the vast, mysterious mountain system known as the Asian Patagonia.
The high mountains that made Central Asia famous, those with magical names like Altai, Pamir, Tien Shan and Hindu Kush, are of course the stars of the show. Travel there, and be amazed.
********* FIJI ********************
Although walking for fun might strike most locals as a little odd, Fiji is home to some spectacular treks and trails.
Fiji is famous for its corals and coast, but we will take you on a journey off the beaten trek, away from the tourist resorts. Experience Fiji that many people don’t know, walking in a landscape of dramatic peaks, pristine forests, sparkling rivers, remote villages, vibrant traditional culture and unique history. By going on foot, you will have the opportunity to experience the vibrant traditional culture that runs deep within Fijian society.
********** Ethiopia *****************
Ethiopia is a land of legends and mystery – the Queen of Sheba and the Ark of the Covenant to name but two. The landscape is also mesmerising. In the far north are the Simien Mountains – a mystical world of primaeval forests, misty peaks, bizarre plants and exotic creatures. Trekking these stunning highlands is like stepping into an otherworldly paradise.
Simien Mountains National Park: This massive plateau, riven with gullies and pinnacles, offers tough but immensely rewarding trekking along the ridge that falls sheer to the plains far below. It’s not just the scenery (and altitude) that will leave you speechless, but also the excitement of sitting among a group of gelada monkeys or watching magnificent Walia ibex joust on rock ledges.
