On Tuesday, April 28 at 11:00 AM, we’ll be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony for our new accessible kayak launch at Lock C5 Island, followed by a small reception. The public is warmly invited to attend.

This new launch is designed to make getting out on the water safer and more accessible for individuals of all abilities. With supportive features that allow for easier entry and exit, it opens the door for more people to experience the beauty of the Champlain Canal.

📍 Event Location Details:

The ribbon cutting will take place at Hudson Crossing Park’s floating dock on the canal side of the island.

Accessible parking is available near Lock C5 (the lot on the left after the bridge over the lock and before the yellow gates), with a flat, packed dirt path leading to a paved, downhill trail to the launch.

General parking is available in the main Hudson Crossing Park lot (to the right before the wrought iron “Hudson Crossing Park” gate). From there, the dock can be reached by walking through the play garden and up the cut stone stairs.

Volunteers will be available to help guide you!
