"Remembering Steel Skies Raining Tears" Chutzpah Festival Concert

"Remembering Steel Skies Raining Tears" Chutzpah Festival Concert

A powerful world premiere concert commemorating the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Jews and others from the Nazi Death Camps. Musically based on Eastern European Jewish and Hungarian melodies and rhythms, in this new work, the evocative, soulful melodies and dance rhythms of the music for string quartet and solo cello are augmented by the sounds of mysterious and powerful percussion instruments from European and world music cultures. The unique feature of this concert is that it includes world premieres of music by composer and Hungarian Jewish holocaust survivor Peter Gary in addition to the special work written in his honour by Paul Alexander.
