- **Event Description**: We, the community of Stanford, stand in opposition to the rhetoric and policies of the President Elect and his administration. We have all been affected by the rhetoric of the election, and have watched in horror as Trump selects a cast of racists, anti-LGBT bigots, and climate change deniers for his cabinet of billionaires and generals.

On Inauguration Day, we invite the Stanford community to rally together - no classes, no work, no business as usual. We will demonstrate and march to show Trump and his incoming administration that we will counter the rhetoric of hate and resist policies that dehumanize people.

We will present demands to the university administration to ensure that Stanford is a sanctuary for undocumented community members. After the march, there will be performances, educational spaces, and ways for people to plug into organizing efforts.

Where policy reinforces racism, misogyny, or xenophobia, we will oppose it.
Where the new administration violates our civil rights, we will defend ourselves and one another.
Where the new administration demonizes our fellow human beings, we will speak up.

We will not be divided by our religious affiliations. We will not be divided by our genders and sexual orientations. We will not hate our neighbor for the color of their skin or the language that they speak. We will not be ruled by fear.
