There is a belief by many that somehow this next round of technological evolution is going to be “different” than previous waves of innovation, that the harms and dangers that have been created by Web 2 and Web 1 won’t be present. However a future where they are mitigated won’t be possible until they are actually named, taken seriously and then addressed. Web 2.0 has caused harms:To individuals To organizations, To communities, To societies, To democracy The purpose of this event is to name and focus on the specific harms at different levels. We are convening a ½ day open space technology unconference to support collective discernment and understanding of the harms. This event is the second event in a series the next event will be about how these harms can be mitigated in Web 3 and the future of the metaverse.
