While Michigan recognized Juneteenth as a holiday in 2005, we in Holland have been celebrating the history of Juneteenth since 2000!

I AM Academy is hosting the Juneteenth Freedom Festival.  All funds raised will help continue the work of providing representation, mentorship, and opportunities for our Black Youth in the West Michigan area. 

We are hosting a Soulful Music Festival on Friday, June 17th from 7-10pm at Park Theatre (248 S River Ave, Holland, MI, 49423) and on Saturday, June 18th from 7 -9 pm at Kollen Park (240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland, MI 49423). 

The Juneteenth Freedom Festival Market will be on Saturday, June 18 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Kollen Park (240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland, MI 49423). We are looking for vendors, food trucks, makers, artists, crafters, and hobbyists who want to sell their creations and products, as well as organizations and companies that would like to share their information with the greater Holland community. If you are interested in volunteering we can use your help too!! 

We are excited to host the first Juneteenth Jump Off, a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Saturday, June 18 beginning at 9:00 am.
