GUEST SPEAKER: CAROLINE BINHAM (MARY WINDSOR 1991-1996), UK COMPANIES NEWS EDITOR FOR THE FINANCIAL TIMES

Routh Concert Hall, Bromsgrove School

Saturday, 22nd November 2025
11.45am Arrival, 12.00 noon Talk, 1.15pm Lunch

Our Guest Speaker, Caroline Binham, is an Old Bromsgrovian. She attended Blue Coat Preparatory School in Edgbaston before boarding at Bromsgrove in Mary Windsor House for five years. She left the School in 1996 and studied French and Italian at Bristol University. She then moved to New York University to complete a Master's degree in journalism, arriving a couple of weeks before 9/11. After working for Condé Nast Traveller in New York, Caroline returned to the UK to work at Tatler before moving into business journalism at Bloomberg News.

She joined the FT in 2011, heading the team covering professional services, reporting on financial regulation and the law and then becoming a leader writer, expressing the views of the editorial board on various news topics. Caroline now oversees UK business coverage for the FT. She jointly won business journalist of the year at the UK Press Awards in 2023.

Caroline is married and has two boys and lives in London. She keeps in touch with many Bromsgrove friends, and we hope to see many of them back at the School in November.

Apart from hearing from an OB who chose to study in the USA, this talk promises to be a unique opportunity to hear about Caroline's career in journalism in a range of publications and latterly at one of the foremost global business newspapers.

The Speaker's Lunch is open to anyone who has a connection to Bromsgrove and I hope that you will be able to join us for what promises to be a superb event.

The cost is £30 per person, which includes a welcome drink and buffet lunch. Profits raised from the Speaker's Lunch will go to the Foundation's life-changing bursaries scheme, giving the gift of a Bromsgrove education to children who would otherwise not be able to attend the School.

Tables are for up to 10 people - you can book a whole table or just a few tickets. Places are limited and allocated on a first come first served basis.
