Experience Hammel Woods in a new and exciting way. Join a naturalist in a hands-on exploration of the creek. While visiting the habitats in and around the water, we’re sure to spot some interesting creatures. Using nets and hand lenses, we will investigate both the small and large creatures we find. 

Fee: Free!
Age: All ages.

Registration required by Wednesday, Aug. 5, by calling 815-722-9470 or online: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/fpdwc/activity/search/detail/10148?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true

Meet at the last parking lot at the southern end of Hammel Woods — Route 59 Access. 

The hike will be less than 1 mile, and the activity will take place in water and on natural trails over uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with-disabilities-act-information/request-accommodation-inclusion-service/) no later than 48 hours before the program.
