Het Wilde Weten – Open Studio’s
During Art Rotterdam the artists’ initiative Het Wilde Weten will be opening its studios to the public. In January 2012 its residency space moved to the most hallowed part of this former monastery building – the chapel. The bike tour is a unique opportunity to visit the chapel for the presentations of its current artists in Residence Ellen Henriette Suhrke and Johanne Birkeland Svendsen (NO). Ellen and Johanne shall present their artists books and serve waffles. Johanne and Ellen are also founders of the Norwegian residency Hellebou, which since its founding has developed a strong Norwegian-Dutch network and has initiated many residencies for the artistic communities of both Notodden and Rotterdam.
Het Wilde Weten – WildBookMarket (WBM)
There’s also an opportunity to visit the WBM (WildBookMarket), where an international collection of artists and publishers shall present their remarkable art books. WBM is the ideal opportunity to explore, buy or exchange artist’s books and this year the focus is on the phenomenon of the monograph.

For the bike tour Paolo and Lisa invite you to their patio to enjoy a picnic with film screenings.
The Echo Park Film Center also runs a residency in L.A. where local film and video makers are invited to utilize their resources in creating and premiering new work over a four-week period.
