Η isnotgallery και το Almyra παρουσιάζουν τη νέα ομαδική έκθεση του καλοκαιριού

Σηματοδοτώντας δέκα χρόνια δημιουργικής συνεργασίας, η isnotgallery και το Almyra Hotel παρουσιάζουν την ομαδική εικαστική έκθεση «Προσωρινά για Πάντα | Temporary Forever», τα εγκαίνια της οποίας θα πραγματοποιηθούν το Σάββατο 25 Ιουλίου, στις 20:30. 

Πρόκειται για έναν θεσμό που επιστρέφει κάθε καλοκαίρι με την ίδια κανονικότητα που επιστρέφει και η ίδια η εποχή. Δέκα καλοκαίρια τέχνης σε έναν χώρο φτιαγμένο όχι για να μένεις, αλλά για να επιστρέφεις.

Σύμφωνα με το concept της φετινής έκθεσης, το καλοκαίρι δεν μένει ποτέ, αλλά επιστρέφει, τακτικά, αξιόπιστα. Κάθε χρόνο έρχεται σαν να ήταν η πρώτη φορά και φεύγει σαν να ήταν η τελευταία. Αυτή η επανάληψη,  το καλοκαίρι που γυρίζει, πανομοιότυπο και διαφορετικό κάθε φορά, είναι, ίσως, η πιο ειλικρινής εικόνα για το ίδιο το έργο τέχνης. Ένα έργο δημιουργείται μέσα σε μια συγκεκριμένη στιγμή, για συγκεκριμένους λόγους. Κι όμως φιλοδοξεί να τα ξεπεράσει όλα: να μείνει, να θυμάται, να σημαίνει κάτι πέρα από τη στιγμή της δημιουργίας του. Το προσωρινό, λοιπόν, δεν είναι το αντίθετο του διαρκούς. Είναι ο μόνος τρόπος που γνωρίζουμε για να επιβεβαιώσουμε το δεύτερο.

Αυτή ακριβώς η συνύπαρξη του εφήμερου με το διαρκές αποτελεί τον πυρήνα της έκθεσης. Δεν είναι τυχαίο ότι ήδη από το 1966 ο Robert Smithson έγραφε για μια νέα γενιά μνημείων που δεν φιλοδοξούσαν στη διάρκεια: «δεν χτίζονται για τους αιώνες, αλλά ενάντια στους αιώνες» (they are not built for the ages, but rather against the ages). Δεν επρόκειτο για μνημεία της αποτυχίας ή της παραίτησης, αλλά για μνημεία που είχαν συμφιλιωθεί εκ των προτέρων με τη φθορά τους, που δεν προσποιούνταν την αιωνιότητα και, ακριβώς γι' αυτό, κατάφερναν να πουν κάτι αληθινό για τον χρόνο.

Σε επιμέλεια του Άντρου Ευσταθίου, κάθε έργο στην έκθεση «Προσωρινά για Πάντα | Temporary Forever» κουβαλά τη δική του εκδοχή αυτής της έντασης. Υπάρχουν έργα φτιαγμένα από υλικά που δεν αντέχουν στον χρόνο, δίπλα σε έργα που επιμένουν στη σταθερότητα του μετάλλου, της πέτρας και της φωτογραφικής αποτύπωσης. Υπάρχουν εικόνες που μοιάζουν να ζητούν να ξεχαστούν και άλλες που μοιάζουν να αρνούνται πεισματικά να εξαφανιστούν. Κανένα από αυτά τα έργα δεν λύνει το ερώτημα. Όλα, όμως, του δίνουν σχήμα.

Η έκθεση δεν προσπαθεί να κρατήσει τίποτα ζωντανό για πάντα. Προσπαθεί να σταθεί, για λίγο, όσο διαρκεί ένα καλοκαίρι, στο σημείο όπου το εφήμερο και το διαρκές παύουν να είναι αντίθετα και γίνονται, απλώς, δύο τρόποι να μετράς τον ίδιο χρόνο.

Isnotgallery and Almyra present the new group exhibition of the summer

Marking ten years of creative collaboration, isnotgallery and Almyra Hotel present the group art exhibition “Temporary Forever”, the opening of which will take place on Saturday, July 25, at 8:30 PM.

Curated by Andros Efstathiou, each work in the exhibition “Temporary Forever” carries its own version of this tension. There are works made of materials that do not withstand time, next to works that insist on the stability of metal, stone and photographic recording. There are images that seem to ask to be forgotten and others that seem to stubbornly refuse to disappear. None of these works solve the question. But all of them give it shape.

The exhibition does not try to keep anything alive forever. It tries to stand, for a while, for the duration of a summer, at the point where the ephemeral and the permanent cease to be opposites and become, simply, two ways of measuring the same time.
