Reception will be held Saturday from 5 to 8pm.This pop-up exhibition will feature works by the late Evanston artist, Leopold Segedin (1927-2025). The focus will be works on paper and board, many of which were created for local art fairs (like Hyde Park and Old Orchard) that he showed at during the 1950s and 1960s. Many of these works have not been exhibited since then and provide a rare opportunity for collectors to acquire fascinating and unusual works from Mr. Segedin’s oeuvre.Leopold Segedin began painting in 1942. In a career that spanned nine decades he painted myriad subjects and themes including the bible and mythology, musicians, games, trains, Maine and Michigan landscapes, and self-portraits, but his focus always returned to Chicago.
