Celebrate culture, community, and creativity at a special Kwanzaa-themed storytime led by the incomparable , a beloved storyteller, speech-language pathologist, and cultural arts educator whose work has inspired families across Chicago and beyond.
During this joyful morning gathering, Mama Edie will share enchanting stories rooted in the seven principles of Kwanzaa—unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. Through music, movement, and interactive storytelling, children and caregivers will learn, laugh, and connect.
This storytime is perfect for families looking to honor Black heritage and create meaningful memories during the holiday season. Whether Kwanzaa is a long-held tradition in your home or something you’re celebrating for the first time, you’ll leave uplifted, inspired, and grounded in the power of community.
