This workshop is the first of four sessions in our Zine into the New Year series. Each week explores a different creative theme to guide reflection, storytelling, and artistic expression.
This week’s theme: Thresholds — moments of transition, becoming, and standing between what was and what is next.
Participants are welcome to attend a single session or join the full series.
Chrisi Morrison is a Eugene-native artist passionate about people and their stories. With experience in the Hollywood entertainment industry and personal work as a writer, actor, and dancer, Chrisi brings a unique, trauma-informed approach to creativity and its role in healing. She holds an MFA in Writing for Film & Television from the University of Southern California and believes in creativity as a powerful tool for transformation, expression, and connection.
In this workshop, participants will create self-made booklets, also known as zines. Using collage, found poetry, and weekly themes, we’ll explore how to create new worlds from old materials. The process is reflective, playful, and supportive—focused on expression rather than perfection.
Participants will leave with meaningful pages created during the session and a clear sense of how their zine is unfolding.
This workshop is great for women, children, and families—whether attending together or individually. No prior art or writing experience is needed. It’s a welcoming way to express yourself in community and greet the new year with new perspective.
(All other materials will be provided.)
