Alice Blankenship and her microphilharmonic Baroque ensemble on period instruments focused in on the Trio Sonata, which was incredibly durable for the entire Baroque period, but has a kind of Golden Age in the period from 1690-1720. It crossed cultures and countries, and it was really the go-to chamber ensemble of the Baroque period.
