Don’t miss the opportunity to take advantage of the annual Compost Specialist Training on April 28 and May 5, 2026, 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Classes will be held at the OSU Extension Service - Lane, 996 Jefferson St., Eugene, OR 97401. Participants must attend both days.

Applications are available at the OSU Lane County Extension office at 996 Jefferson Street, Eugene, as well as online.
After training, Compost Specialists must volunteer 20 hours of compost-related activities to become certified. These hours, which include teaching others about composting, also count towards your Master Gardener volunteer hour commitment. Non-Master Gardeners may also become Compost Specialists. Refer to the registration form for details.

Includes: Compost Specialist Manual and supplemental materials. (After training, volunteer must complete 20 hours of compost-related activities to become certified.)

Prerequisites: Participants will have assigned reading prior to the training. Compost Specialist Training Manuals can be emailed to you or picked up at the OSU Extension Service–Lane County office a week prior to class.
