We are excited to invite you to a special program on Friday, February 13th at 1:00 PM
featuring two engaging speakers who will share important and meaningful information for our community.
Our first speaker will be Mindy Andrasevits, former Eudora Fire Chief and now a Regional Director with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). The NFPA is a global,
nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the risk of fire, electrical, and life safety hazards. Mindy will be speaking about lithium-ion batteries - a technology many of us use
every day in items like cell phones, power tools, and flashlights. While these batteries are convenient and generally safe, they can become dangerous if damaged or misused. She will explain how these batteries work, what warning signs to look for, how to stay safe at home and work, what products to avoid, and how to properly dispose of old or damaged
batteries.
Our second speaker will represent CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA's mission is to recruit, train, and support volunteers who advocate for children who have
experienced abuse or neglect and are under the protection of the court system. They currently serve all of Douglas County and are looking for volunteers to help support the 65
children currently on their waitlist. You will learn how you can make a meaningful difference in a child's life through this rewarding opportunity.
We hope you will join us for this informative experience. We hope to see you there!
