- **Event Name**: Seed Sowing Workshop with the Adirondack Garden Club
- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 23 Jan, 2026 at 10:00 am – Fri, 23 Jan, 2026 at 12:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Join a seed sowing workshop led by horticulture experts and support the Adirondack Garden Club’s efforts to plant native species and combat invasives at the Essex Quarry Nature Preserve, owned by Champlain Area Trails.

After sowing over 700 seeds in 2024 and 2025, the club aims to grow even more native ephemerals, sedges, and perennials this year, including Hepatica, bloodroot, False Solomon’s Seal, red columbine, and several goldenrods and asters.

At the January 23rd workshop, you’ll sow seeds in milk jugs and 4-inch pots for outdoor cold stratification. Once they germinate in spring, seedlings will be planted at the quarry. It’s a simple, hands-on, and cost-effective way to help!

All supplies provided. Meet at the Whallonsburg Grange on January 23rd.
