Emerging as a fully formed enigma from her native New Zealand, Lorde blends deeply artful, literate songwriting with electronic and psych-pop hooks. Since bursting into the public consciousness with 2013's "Royals" and her international smash debut Pure Heroine, the singer/songwriter has garnered cross-generational acclaim, earning respect from established artists like Bruce Springsteen and Jack White (both of whom covered "Royals"), while simultaneously becoming an icon for a generation who feel older than their years; a stylistic vibe that paved the way for the arty, confessional indie pop of artist like Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Troye Sivan.
