The Greek-Luxembourgish soprano will introduce you to the songs of Mikis Theodorakis. When speaking of traditional Greek music, one immediately thinks of this composer – a symbol of resistance during the dictatorship of the colonels in Greece – and of one instrument in particular: the bouzouki.

In reality, Greece has many popular musical traditions. Mària Devitzaki will also explore them, focusing on rhythm, gestures, and the dancing phrasing that lie at the heart of this warm and vibrant musical culture, a true marker of Greek identity.

This workshop is a collaboration between Sequenda and Escher Theater. 

No language skills or singing experience are required to take part.

A small tasting of Greek specialties will follow the singing class.
