- **Event Description**: Briggs Street Books and Music presents the next in our Author Spotlight Series, “Women Dedicated to the Wild”.  

November 6th from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

Join us for an evening of poetry and writing from three local authors dedicated to the outdoors. Acting as MC, Erin Robertson is the founder of BoCo Wild Writers and Writer-in-Residence for Friends of Coal Creek. She will share her own poetry from her experiences in the wild. 

Shelli Rottschafer will share her essay "My Green View at the Vista Trailhead" from the newly released Campfire Stories: Santa Fe & Taos – Tales and Companion Guide 2025. 

Courtney Johnson's guidebook, Hike the Parks: Mesa Verde & Beyond (released in October 2025), features 30 hikes in Southwestern Colorado. She will share some of her favorite experiences while writing her second guidebook. 

Books will be available for purchase at the store and get yours signed by the Author!

Erin Robertson is the founder of BoCo Wild Writers and Writer-in-Residence for Friends of Coal Creek.  She has served as a guest artist hosted by the U.S. Consulate in Kazakhstan, Voices of the Wilderness Artist in Residence in Alaska, and Boulder County Artist in Residence.  erinrobertson.org, @bocowildwriters


Courtney Johnson is a resident of Erie and the author of The Best Utah Children’s Hikes and a new guidebook, Hike the Parks: Mesa Verde & Beyond. An avid reader, she also enjoys hiking, exploring, and the night sky. She is also an educator and freelance writer.

Writer Shelli Rottschafer lives in El Prado, New Mexico and Louisville, Colorado with her partner, Photographer Daniel Combs and their Pyrenees-Border Collie. Shelli completed her doctorate in Spanish from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque (2005) and her MFA in Creative Writing from Western Colorado University, Gunnison (2025).
