ROTA DAS ALGAS -Seaweed Foraging Workshop

The Rota das Algas (Seaweed Route) is a guided walking experience of around 3 hours, taking place along the coastline at low tide, inviting participants to discover the edible macroalgae of our coast.

Throughout the walk, the species present are identified, their characteristics explored, on-site tastings carried out, and seaweeds responsibly harvested for later consumption.

The experience also includes practical insights into marine ecology, sustainability, oceanography, astronomy applied to tides, and the legal framework, as well as simple, effective and tasty ways to use seaweeds in the kitchen.
