- **Event Description**: Join our volunteers for a guided walk around Langley Vale Wood's unique sculptures and artwork commemorating the First World War.About this EventAn Introduction to Langley Vale Wood - guided walkJoin our knowledgeable volunteers on a guided walk around the sculptures and artwork that commemorate the sacrifices made during World War One. The walk will last around 1.5 hours with regular stops and will be on a mix of surfaced and unsurfaced paths and some slopes. There is also the option on the day to attend a shorter version of the walk that takes place on level ground. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather with sturdy footwear. You may want to bring extra sun protection, insect repellant and a drink.Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the walk start to allow time for parking and signing in.Event information:Meeting point: Langley Vale Wood Car Park, Headley Road, Ashtead, Epsom KT18 6BZPrice: Free (donations welcome)Duration: approx.1.5 hours maxIf you have any questions, access requirements, or would like to join us for the event but have any hesitations that we may be able to support with, please get in touch at langleyvalewood@woodlandtrust.org.ukWhat to know before the walk:Langley Vale Wood car park is a surfaced car park with over 70 spaces, including disabled parking and RolecEV charging for electric vehicles.There is a charge at the car park. All funds go back into the maintenance of Langley Vale Wood.2 Hours- £24 Hours- £4All day- £5Payment can be made using a contactless card via the payment machines onsite or through the RingGo app. Please note: the machines do not take cash. On arrival please allocate enough time for the event, for this walk we recommend 4 hours.AccessThis walk is approx. 1.5 hours, partly on footpaths, uneven ground with some inclines. This walk will pass through gated areas. Unfortunately, the full route we have planned isn’t suitable for prams or people with mobility issues. There is the option to take part in the first half of the walk which takes place on more level ground and is nearby to the car park - just let the walk leader know on the day if you need this option. FacilitiesThere are no toilet facilities onsite. The nearest public toilets are in Ashtead on Woodfield Lane (KT21 1AT).Before you goWe ask all attendees to come prepared for the weather, this includes appropriate clothing, footwear, sun cream and water if needed. This walk will be cancelled if there is severe weather, please check your emails on the day before the walk.Please make the Woodland Trust team aware of any medical issues before the start of the walk, e.g. asthma, diabetes, etc.DogsDogs on leads are welcome.
