Oasis War will be held at Lions Park in Ephrata. This is a mere 2.5 miles (6 minutes) from the usual site. We are trying a new location this year. The park has MORE parking, FLATTER ground, and still has trees and a pavilion. Come help us test it out and please give the event crew feedback on how you like it.
We will be having some Siege activities this year! More info on that soon. A couple years ago we focused on Cut and Thrust and this year it is Siege’s time to shine.
There will be a Cut and Thrust Tournament in the afternoon!
Warlords & Chieftains, assemble your armies in the heart of the Inlands. Test your mettle against sword and shield, pike, and war bow! Stand with your companions in open field, forest, and castle battles.
Although Oasis War is well known as a Heavy war, we also have Rapier combat scenarios each year as well. Rapier fighters highly encouraged to attend!
We welcome Artisans to come show off your art and merchants to come sell your wares!
At this time, we do not have plans for YAC or YAR. Sorry kids!
Cranehaven will provide typical fighter snacks. Please plan to bring a water bottle and lunch for yourselves.
$20 site fee ($10 member discount) – cash, card, or check. Make checks payable to SCA Inc. College of Cranehaven. We do have card payment available again this year!
Event Schedule
7am – event team arrives with the castle and begins set up
9am - Gate opens to everyone; Castle possibly still being erected, happy to have volunteers to help with this as it speeds it along.
9:30am - Armor Inspections for Heavy, Rapier, Missile Combat, and Siege. The sooner everyone is here and inspected, the sooner we can play – I mean fight!
10:00am - War starts as soon as fighters are ready. Typically, rapier and heavy fight all day. Missile combat typically goes every other scenario. We have one big field and a smaller shaded field. We will share the castle with the rapier fighters while heavy fighters do open field scenarios.
10am - TBD Siege class / activity
12pm - TBD Siege class / activity
1pm - gate closes
3pm - Cut and Thrust Tournament
4pm - most fighting ends. C&T permitted to go longer. Clean up and break down castle
5pm - site closes
