Synopsis
Daughters of Ceithleann is a new Irish folk musical created by Moya Sweeney, performed by local vocalists and musicians. It tells the story of Enniskillen's name sake, Ceithleann, and her undeniable influence on the inspirational women who grew up on this island. This piece of theatre includes songs and instrumental pieces inspired by women who have contributed significantly to the history and cultural footprint of Enniskillen. The music in this project is intrinsically linked and inspired by Irish traditional music, with each piece reflecting the story of each woman. The piece will be performed by 9 women, who all have contributed significantly to the development of music performance in Fermanagh (Nadia Stenson, Clodagh Sweeney, Gráinne Kennedy, Niamh Carney, Philana Nolan, Cara Murphy, Crea Mullen, Abbey Wilson and Conni Rose Dawson).
