Jesse Taylor is a true American original with a passion for singing and songwriting has taken him to dive bars and honky-tonks throughout much of the West.
His poetic lyrics and haunting melodies capture the flavor of rodeo life with a soulful authenticity. His songs speak powerfully of the American West, of its timeless values and virtues. And they do so in ways that remind us all of the ups and downs in our own lives.
Jesse was born and raised in Arlington, Washington. With his Mom named after a Johnny Cash song and his Dad a team roper and songwriter, Jesse grew up with rodeo -- and music -- in his blood. He began roping at age 3, was given his first guitar at age 4 and rode his first bull at 14. He began writing songs at 16 and two years later went on the road in his pick-up truck with his dog, Sandy traveling from Washington to Arizona playing for people he met along the way. At 22, Jesse recorded his first album, One Chance to Win, in his mother’s kitchen. It contains ten of his original songs.
In 2010, Jesse was offered a job in Hawaii and spent the next two years on the island of Lana’i. During the day he managed a dude ranch where he led trail rides for resort guests and would play a song for every guest spreading his music one handshake at a time.
Jesse was fortunate enough to record his first studio album, "Out Here In The Country", at Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN. The album included nine original songs and two songs written by his father. It was released March 26, 2013.
Since January 2013, Jesse has been playing at saloons, bars, restaurants, casinos, breweries, dance halls, rodeos, music festivals and private events in Washington, California, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In March 2013, upon invitation from the U.S. Navy, Jesse was flown to Dubai to perform as part of the entertainment for the servicemen and women on their port visit.
Over the last few years Jesse has become seasoned and has played all types of shows in all types of venues including playing at the Oso, Wa mudslide fundraiser along side the Cadillac Three. He has opened for Lee Brice, Joe Nichols, Thompson Square, Chase Rice and LeAnn Rimes at the Stillaguamish Festival of the River in Arlington, WA.
