- **Event Description**: This lecture will begin with a survey of the role of Black and Native American troops in the Revolution. It will then examine the role of Black and Native American units at Monmouth, with special attention to case studies of individual soldiers.

This program will be presented by award winning author and Friends of Monmouth Battlefield President, Dr. David Martin. Dr. Martin is the author of over 20 books on the Revolutionary War and Civil War, including two award-winning books on Gettysburg. He is also the author of “A Molly Pitcher Sourcebook” (2003).  
 
Join us at 2:00 PM in the Visitor Center auditorium at Monmouth Battlefield State Park, 20 State Route 33, Manalapan, NJ. The lecture is open to the public and admission is free. For further information: friendsofmonmouth@gmail.com
