Visit to Myddelton House Garden

Myddelton House Gardens were once home to Edward Augustus Bowles (1865-1954), one of Britain’s most famous self-taught gardeners, artists and expert botanists. The eight acre grounds play host to a variety of trees, shrubs and flowers as well as an extensive heritage kitchen garden and cut flower beds. The beautiful reconstructed Victorian Glasshouse contains four climatic zones housing exotic plants from around the world ranging from cacti which thrive on dry arid conditions to air plants which obtain all of their nutrients from water vapour in the air.

Itinerary: Visitors will gather at 11:00 with a tour of the garden to begin at 11:15. A sandwich lunch will be available following the tour (see Ticket Prices section below).

Directions by car: At junction 25 of the M25 take the A10 exit to London. At the Waltham Cross Interchange, take the 1st exist onto Great Cambridge Rd/A10, then turn right onto Bullsmoor Lane. After 600m, at the roundabout, take the 1st exist onto Bull’s Cross. Turn right to stay on Bulls Cross on a restricted usage road and stay on that road until the destination is reached on the right.

Accessibility: Wheelchairs are offered on a first come first served basis, available from the shed in the car park by the accessible parking area.

Members: £10 for tour.

Non-members / guests: £13

Please note parking and refreshment costs are additional. As noted above, visitors will need to pay a £3 charge for parking which can be paid in advance. For groups, Myddelton House required that lunch orders beconfirmed 2 weeks before the event, with sandwiches priced between £3.50-3.80 and paid for on the day.
